IF:Okoboji is a gathering of women committed to discipleship who gather across denominations, generations, and cultures to be in the Word and worship together. It is a sisterhood of women who are willing to step out in faith because there’s nothing better than experiencing the love of Jesus.

August 6th we will be back at our 1010 Julia campus in Okoboji for worship services. We will be saying goodbye to our summer home at the Okoboji Bible Conference grounds.

SWIM Build
Good News Community Church is joining with the Spirit Lake United Methodist and Harbor of Joy Lutheran Churches to build SWIM’s Chlorine Producing Units (CPUs) on April 28 & 29. There will be two 1 ½ hour shifts starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and two more starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Our goal is to build 100 CPUs. Those will provide safe water to approximately 100,000 people.
There are jobs for every skill level, from measuring and cutting wire, to installing connectors, to soldering clips. Training will be offered at every station. Families with youth ages 12+ are encouraged to come. The Build will take place at the Wesley Place, on Hill Ave. across from the courthouse. Please park in the United Methodist Church parking lot at that back of the building.
A sign up sheet will be available at church on April 16 & 23. There are only a limited number of spaces available, so make sure to register. One and a half hours of your time will make a world of difference for those who lack access to safe water.

IF: Okoboji 2023
We desperately want to stay faithful in these times, but we know we can’t muster up the faith all on our own. IF:2023 matters to us, because for two days we get to gather and remind each other that God is who we need. God is who will provide. We gather for two days of worship, with our Bibles, and we ask God to move.
Friday, March 31 6:30-9:30pm & Saturday, April 1 9:00am-4:00pm
Cost: $35. (does not include lunch, time will be provided for lunch out on your own)
Location: Good News Okoboji or Estherville
Those who register by Sunday, March 5 will receive an IF inspired campfire coffee mug!
Ash Wednesday Service
Join us at our Okoboji Parish for our evening Ash Wednesday service. We will share Scripture, a message, and the Imposition of Ashes.
Christmas Day Services
You’re invited to attend a special Christmas Day Service at Good News.
On Christmas Morning we’ll celebrate the hope we have in Christ, share in joyous song, and send you with a blessing as you share the day with family and friends.
Length of Service: Roughly an hour.
Nursery: This service will be family friendly.
Dress: Come as you are!

Christmas Eve Services

You’re invited to attend one of our Christmas Eve Services. Our Christmas Eve Services are family-friendly, last about an hour, and will help center your hearts on the joy that we have in the coming of Jesus. All Christmas Eve Services will end in candlelight.
Dress: Come as you are!
Nursery: There won’t be a nursery, but all ages are welcome to join us.
Suggested Arrival Time: Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of service start time to park, get acquainted with our facilities, and find a seat with your family and friends.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Party (Students)
On December 14th, All middle and High School Students are invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater or something equally as silly. There will be snacks and games. Bring your friends!!!

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.
Women’s Bible Study/Prayer
We will gather to study together the true, biblical understanding of prayer.
This five week study will - Help you overcome the lack of a desire to pray; Show you how to make time for prayer even when you are busy; Answer your questions about why God answers yes to some prayers and no to others, and; Teach you how prayer can be a source of strength in times of sorrow, anxiety, and frustration.

S.W.I.M. BUILD
Let’s build safe water systems!
Over $4000 was raised recently through a fundraiser breakfast for SWIM International - to provide clean drinking water to families overseas.
We'll gather Saturday, March 26th, at Good News Okoboji and build 50 units. Each unit provides clean drinking water for 1,000 people!!
